Bat Roost Potential Building Survey

Have you have been asked to provide a bat survey? If you are not aware of any bats in the building and/or no other ecologist has recommended a bat emergence survey, then this survey will provide the planners with what they are looking for.

This survey can be undertaken at any time of year.

» Establish the potential for the building to support bat roosts;

» Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

In accordance with the Bat Conservation Trust Guidelines 2012 the survey will consist of an internal inspection of the loft spaces and potential roost locations where possible, looking for signs of bats in the form of droppings staining and the bats themselves. Followed by an external inspection of the building to identify potential emergence points.

If a bat roost is found further emergence surveys (Undertaken between May-September) and a Natural England Licence must be sought prior to works and an appropriate mitigation plan must be implemented.
